Mexico.- The head of the Ministry of Economy (SE), Tatiana Clouthier Carrilloannounced that the negotiations between the governments of Mexico and South Korea officially started in order to formalize a free trade agreement between the two nations.
Through your official account Twitterthe official emphasized that with the beginning of the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement with South Korea, the Mexican borders will be opened to foreign trade.
“We started negotiations to crystallize the #FreeTrade Agreement between #Korea and #Mexico, we seek that our nations face economic challenges and opportunities together. That is why we gladly welcome @TradeMin_KOR, Minister of #Commerce of the Asian country,” wrote the Secretary of Economy .

At the same time, the undersecretary of Economy, Luz Maria de la Morarecalled that, to date, the Asian country is the third commercial partner of MexicoHence, he stressed that when an agreement is reached on the matter, access to the market in said region will be improved.
“South Korea is our third trading partner and the fifth destination for our exports. With an FTA we will achieve better access for our exportable supply to that Asian market, in addition to putting us on the path for Korea to be an associated State of the Pacific Alliance,” he stressed.
Last December 2021, the Undersecretary of Economy announced that it would be at the beginning of the current year when the Mexican and South Korean governments would try, for the third time, to finalize a commercial agreement.
