Nightdive Studios has officially announced The Thing: Remasteredthe remastered edition of the shooter originally released in 2002 which was a sequel to the film directed by John Carpenter.
Presented with the trailer which you can see below, the game has been confirmed for the moment only on PC and does not yet have a release date, but it could make its debut during this year.
In The Thing: Remastered we will take on the role of Captain JF Blake, leader of a rescue team that is sent to Antarctica to investigate the events narrated in Carpenter’s filmtherefore the bloody sequence of deaths that occurred in the Outpost 31 research center.
Among the frozen wastes, our team will have to face the monstrous shape-shifting alien creature of the film, apparently still alive and never so dangerous given her ability to transform into anyone.
A classic that returns
A few hours after the Nightdive Studios teaser, the team has therefore confirmed that The Thing: Remastered is the new project it is working on: a remasterin fact, which improves the original in terms of resolution, frame rate and effects.
The game’s campaign will include twenty terrifying levels in which we will have to fight against different creatures, a new trust / fear system that will influence the mental state of the team and even more chilling atmospheres.
