Counselor Abdel Salam said: Only less than 4% of the continent’s population has received the vaccine so far, describing this as a “real challenge to human fraternity” and added: The international community must work together to find a solution to this problem. He praised the role played by the UAE in terms of exceptional efforts in distributing the vaccine to the unable and most affected countries since the beginning of the pandemic until now, and stressed that these efforts should be built on.
For his part, Schinas talked about the success of the vaccine program in the European Union, and stressed that this success will not be completed until “everyone benefits from it, regardless of the geographical region or the economic situation.”
He emphasized, “No one will be safe until everyone is safe.”
