The municipality of Plounéventer, in Brittany, it is not particularly populated. Less than 2000 people live there, and its Atlantic breeze usually doesn’t offer too many relevant events. Which is why when something strange happens, the news makes even more noise. In this small town in Finisterra, on a shelter, a van was found. Without damage, without particular signs of abandonment: the white vehicle seemed to have come from nowhere, delicately balanced where no one would have expected to see it.
There local police she was contacted to retrieve the vehicle, but at first no one knew what to do with looking for the motivation behind her strange position. Even the gendarmes have asked for information on social media, which is why the photo they took (on the cover) has gone viral. Surely, and this seemed clear right away, the van could not have been able to get there alone: surely someone had found a way to move it and place it on the shelter.
Hypotheses have been unleashed on social media, from the most plausible (a marketing gimmick, an art form of some kind) to the most bizarre (an alien message). The police excluded them because the owner of the vehicle, contacted after the discovery, had denied knowing why he had been placed there. Eventually the matter was resolved and the person responsible was tracked down.
According to what was discovered by the police, it was a revenge due to a dispute over the purchase of a car. The car was placed there thanks to the use of a forklift. The Plounéventer City Hall will eventually not file a complaint, but the ‘prankster’ will still be fined for causing a potential danger. The manager, a farmer, said he has pledged to reimburse all costs associated with the prank.
