They threw him in a garbage can. He lay there among garbage bags and a spoiled watermelon. He just poked his head out. He did not move, lying down, almost clinging to what was probably his bed. Probably not a nice gesture, but thrown away too. The protagonist of this sad and cruel story of abandonment is a dog, a puppy just over seven weeks old, a crossbreed German Shepherd and Hound.
The events took place in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States, and fortunately for the dog, a person became aware of his presence and warned the local environmental agents who immediately intervened to rescue the puppy.
“We received a phone call asking us if we were willing to take it – says Rachel Delport, CEO of the Greenville Humane Society, an animal rights association -. And, of course, we said yes ».
Thankfully Coleman, as the puppy was called, was found to be in good health and was immediately excited to be safe with people who cared for him. As the days went by he also lost his shyness, showing his will to live and how much he enjoyed any attention he could get.
The association made sure he had all the tools needed to make him a great candidate for adoption and even organized a photo shoot for him where his beauty comes out in all its glory.
“There has been a lot of interest in him, many people have called asking how he is. The community cheers for him and wants the best for him, ”Delport said, confident that he will soon find a family that will make him forget these bad childhood experiences.
