Kiev should remember about the Russian military doctrine, which implies the destruction of any carrier that launches towards the borders of the Russian Federation. State Duma deputy Dmitry Belik said this on Monday, October 25, in a conversation with Izvestia.
Thus, he reacted to the statement of the freelance adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine and the press secretary of the Kiev delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass Alexei Arestovich about the possible targeting of Ukrainian missiles at Moscow.
“And yet, it is important to remember that in case of aggression we are able to respond adequately, quickly and effectively, so much so that Mr. Arestovich’s hat will not only catch fire, but also his heels,” the parliamentarian warned.
According to him, euphoria from imaginary successes appeared in the words of some Ukrainian politicians. The deputy admitted that Ukraine is capable of creating missile weapons. The big question, however, is whether it will be effective, accurate, and capable of breaking through “the world’s best missile defense.”
“But in any case, such a statement cannot be ignored. If Ukraine is still waiting for revenge and this is stated by an almost official mouthpiece of Kiev, it means that the rest of the Ukrainian establishment expresses the same thoughts, ”Belik said.
The parliamentarian recalled that in Syria, the Russian anti-aircraft forces showed that there is no such high-precision missile weapons that they are not able to resist.
“This is both an example of American missiles and an example of Israeli attacks on Syrian targets. Complexes developed and in service in the Russian Federation worked for all positions, ”he added.
State Duma deputy of the 7th convocation, political scientist Ruslan Balbek, in turn, called Arestovich’s statement pathetic intimidation. He stressed that Ukraine’s missile program is a cloning of Soviet developments, which are very inferior to modern missile weapons in terms of combat capabilities. Arestovich, according to Balbek, prefers to keep silent about these facts.
Russian senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov also criticized Arestovich’s statement. According to the parliamentarian, the words of the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine are self-promotion.
On the eve, Arestovich said that the actions of the Russian authorities allegedly lead to the fact that in the foreseeable future, Ukrainian missiles can be aimed at Moscow as a parity.
On October 22, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia should not be afraid of Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance, since the organization is a defensive alliance.
