Car confiscation may be a new way to deal with reckless drivers on the road. Corresponding amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code were developed by deputies of the State Duma. About it writes “Moskovsky Komsomolets” with reference to the vice-speaker of the lower house of parliament Irina Yarovaya.
It is noted that the sanctions are intended to be applied to car owners who committed an accident while intoxicated or allowed speeding, as well as driving into oncoming traffic.
In addition, the changes involve increased administrative responsibility for driving a car by drivers who were deprived of their rights or did not receive them at all. For a repeated violation, the amount of the fine will increase from 30 to 50-100 thousand rubles.
“There is currently no sign of repetition in the legislation. You can commit a violation at least 150 times and each time pay off, pay the same fine, mock common sense and society, ”concluded Yarovaya.
Earlier, the first deputy chairman of the Civic Chamber of the Leningrad Region, Vladimir Petrov, proposed the basis for depriving newcomers of a driver’s license. According to him, the reason for this may be the commission of three or more accidents by them. He noted that young drivers should have a double responsibility: “lack of practical experience and reflex skills should be compensated for by increased attention and composure.”
