Joaquín Martínez will carry the day-to-day weight, once the departures of Paco Sánchez and Isidoro García from the quarry have been confirmed
The circle of professionals that carries the weight of the sports management of Cartagena will also assume from now on the decision-making in the subsidiary. Thus, Paco Belmonte, Manuel Sánchez Breis, Joaquín Martínez, Sívori, César Remón and Ricardo Redondo, who form the sports commission, will take the reins in terms of management, signings, analysis and exits, as they already do in the day to day of the first equipment.
This internal movement occurs after the departures of Isidoro García and Paco Sánchez from the Albinegra quarry. These were raised but pending confirmation, something that happened yesterday when the club announced the departure of the latter as technical director.
Since 2015, García and Sánchez, two ex-albinegros soccer players and homegrown players, have assumed different roles that helped create and consolidate the foundations of the club in Ciudad Jardín. These currently have around five hundred kids, the youth team in the highest category (Division of Honor) and the subsidiary in the Second RFEF step.
The club will have a closer, fluid and daily contact to coordinate the work of the first team and that of Cartagena B
Both Isidoro and Paco had their reasons for stepping aside; some work and others for personal decisions. The move to the front of the bases, especially the subsidiary, requires Efesé close and daily contact in their sports planning. And it wants to be corrected with this movement.
Cartagena B will have a budget of more than half a million euros this season, because they will need a high-level squad to compete against teams like Hércules and Melilla. Signing U-23 players, from the land and from other parts of the Murcian geography, is one of the objectives.
Knowledgeable about the terrain
All these tasks will be handled by the sports commission. And mainly Joaquín Martínez, a professional profile, student of Murcian football and who has followed in detail all the games of the youth and the subsidiary, this past season. Without being usual on the move, Martínez accompanied Cartagena B at the end of the promotion against Quintanar.
Martínez, the club clarified in the statement, will be “in charge of coordinating the work between the subsidiary and the first team.” Many academy players usually train under the orders of Luis Carrión and even be called up and make their debut. This new position, in addition, “will also act as spokesperson for the group led by Pepe Aguilar.”
