He Getafe beat Elche in a key match in the fight for permanence and his second victory in the last twelve matches of LaLiga Santander. The team of Bordalás he was surprised by a goal from Raúl Guti in minute 3, but he was able to turn the score around to end up winning 1-3 at Martínez Valero. Carles Aleñá played his first game with the azulón team and left a very good feeling both in the team and in the fans. He was a key piece for his team to come back.
The Mataró midfielder landed on Twelfth Night in Madrid and, on the 6th, his assignment from FC Barcelona was made official. With just three training sessions and after the odyssey that ‘Geta’ went through to travel to Alicante, Aleñá entered the squad and went straight to eleven in his first days as a Getafe player. Bordalás I place him in the midfielder of a system that was a 4-2-3-1 in attack and that became a 4-4-2 in defense in which Aleñá acted as a forward and in phases a 4-5-1 in which he embedded himself in the center of the field. Elche’s early goal made the visiting team have to assume control of the match and Aleñá was the axis through which all the attacks passed. In the first part, he was not very contemplative and took little risk. Had ua good chance after Cucurella’s pass, his great friend, to tie the game, but his shot went high.
However, in the second half he took the center of the match field. It was an oxygen cylinder for his companions, he hid the ball when necessary, accelerated the attack when the game called for it and did a great job defensively. With the input of Take kubo, Aleñá delayed his position to the double pivot next to Arambarri and continued to show off. From his boots was born the play of 1-2 that ended with a shot from the Japanese and the rejection of Mata to score the goal. The newcomer from Barça finished with 97 minutes on his legs, 76 touches, 88% pass success, four key passes, four goal opportunities created (the most of the game), two shots and three recoveries. Nothing bad.
He was able to play at Getafe last season
The already blue player he was very close to playing in the south of Madrid the last six months of last season. Getafe had a practically closed agreement and did not hide its interest in Aleñá. Ángel Torres stated it repeatedly: “If it depended on Barcelona, it would come, but now the boy decides, with whom we have not yet spoken.” Bordalás did not shy away from interest either: “He is a magnificent player. We would like him to come, but we are not thinking about that possibility now. It is difficult because he is a Barcelona player.”
Finally, the midfielder decided land at Betis. In summer he returned to Barça and has not had minutes under the orders of Ronald Koeman. Getafe closely followed his situation and has obtained his loan until the end of the season. The southern Madrid team already wanted Aleñá in the 2016/2017 season when he played in the subsidiary, but Rafinha’s injury made him go up to the Blaugrana first team. More than three years later he is already in the Azulona entity and they enjoy his game.
