The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has reported the withdrawal from the market in Madrid of some Hiber brand stuffed tea cakes, with the presence of egg in its composition about which the labeling does not warn.
The agency recommends that people allergic to eggs or their derivatives refrain from consuming the sweet. Its intake does not entail any risk for the rest of the population and, as indicated by the agency dependent on the Ministry of Consumption in a statement, the retail establishment has withdrawn the product from the market.
The batch withdrawn is on 01.20.22, with barcode 2621546002006, expiration date of 03.21.22 and 200 grams. According to the information available, the tea cakes have initially been distributed in the Community of Madrid, although investigations continue and it is not ruled out that it may have ended up being sold in other regions.
