The singer recounted episodes of great human warmth and praised the work of the people around him in the facility
The year was 1974, Claudio Baglioni published the song “Ad Agordo è cose”, a song dedicated to the places and people where the singer-songwriter spent several summers at a young age. The origins of Agordine, a municipality in the province of Belluno, in Veneto, belong to his then wife, Paola Massari. Today, remaining in Veneto, however, we must talk about Baglioni’s son, the protagonist of a worrying situation.
Forty years after that song, Giovanni Baglionia guitarist who stands out in the acoustic scene of Italian music, still little known to be honest, shared a personal experience lived in Agordo.
After a recent hospitalization in the local hospital, Baglioni’s son told his story, underlining the work of the healthcare personnel, just as his father had done several years earlier. The language, however, was quite different. It is not a song, but rather words written on social media.
I don’t usually share such personal matters publicly. […] I just wanted to explain my absence from an event that was very important to me. However, I feel the need to thank the staff of the Agordo hospital for the attention and sensitivity shown, even before their professionalism.
Giovanni Baglioni, just after his hospitalization for kidney stones, took the opportunity to reflect on his newfound confidence in his doctors. In previous years, he had developed a certain distrust for this category. However, the experience in Agordo led him to revise this perception.
Giovanni, in fact, beyond generalizations, underlines how there are always individuals who embody humanity and dedication. Baglioni recounted great episodes human warmth and praised the work of the people around him at the facility. “We don’t need ‘angels in lab coats’, but human beings who do their work with empathy,” he concluded in his post.
Following these words, the governor of Veneto also responded, Luca Zaiawho expressed his appreciation for the musician’s public recognition. “I am sure that the staff of the Agordo hospital demonstrated their competence and humanity regardless of the patient’s famous surname”. The governor also underlined how Baglioni confidently chose “the hospital of a small mountain community”, instead of large exclusive structures.
