Conscript soldier Anton Makarov, who killed three servicemen at a military airfield in Voronezh, was charged. Reported by TASS with reference to the lawyer Yana Goryunova.
The young man was accused of committing crimes under clause “a” of part 2 of article 105 (“Murder of two or more persons”) and part 4 of article 226 (“theft of weapons”) of the Criminal Code of Russia. According to the lawyer, after the charges brought against him, Makarov refused to testify.
Goryunova added that a psychological and psychiatric examination has not yet been assigned to her client.
On November 11, the court arrested Makarov for two months, until January 8, 2021.
On the morning of November 9, 20-year-old Anton Makarov, while in a dress at the Baltimore military airfield in the Voronezh region, fell into a rage after the remark of 38-year-old Major Sergei Ermolaev, the regiment duty officer. Makarov removed the ax from the fire shield, watched the officer and hit him on the head, then took the service pistol with cartridges from him and started firing.
Makarov killed three servicemen and wounded one, after which he fled with a pistol. He planned to hide in the Oryol region with his grandparents, who raised him after his parents divorced. The attacker was detained when he was getting to his native place.
