The Ministry of Health confirmed yesterday the irregularity of the administration of the vaccine against Covid-19 to the mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, who received the dose in the first days of January, despite being outside the protocol established by the health authorities. A spokesman for the Murcian Health Service (SMS) explained that, from the Antonio García health center in the canning town, a consultation was made to the Management of the VI Health Area in order to establish whether it was possible to vaccinate Esther Clavero for his condition as a high-risk patient for suffering from cancer, “and it was answered that it could not be done.”
Furthermore, the same sources indicated that “the Ministry of Health is carrying out the vaccination campaign in professionals and, as established in the protocol, the vaccination of patients of any kind has not yet begun.” A clarification that shows, as LA TRUTH has already advanced yesterday, that in the Region no cancer patient has yet been vaccinated for the mere fact of being one, as well as chronic or any other type of disease, regardless of their degree of exposure to contact social, and confirms that Esther Clavero benefited from this vaccination in an exceptional and irregular way.
Although the first mayor of Molina de Segura maintains that the dose was administered by doctor’s prescription, she has not provided any data or documentation that shows that she was cited as one more patient at the health center. Its only endorsement is constituted by a document with the heading Area VI Vega Media del Segura, in which it is argued that, «proceeding to the assessment of high-risk patients, it was deemed convenient to have her vaccinated (Esther Clavero), based on her high-risk oncological pathology, high social exposure and their refusal to isolate themselves ».
“This is a private writing and in no case endorsed by the SMS Management”, state the health authorities about the document drawn up to give ‘coverage’ to the first socialist mayor
A supporting document under suspicion
“With all this – it is stated – she was summoned by the nursing service of the health center, along with four other users, in the time frame provided for it”. This document is dated before yesterday, Wednesday, and is signed by the coordinator of the clinic, Dr. Emilio Macanás, who maintains a sentimental relationship with the mayor of Moline, which is common knowledge in the municipality.
Reactions
- José Ángel Alfonso. PP: “There is evidence of possible influence peddling”
-
José Ángel Alfonso, president and spokesman of the PP of Molina, indicated yesterday that he has requested the extraordinary convocation of the Board of Spokespersons, to be held before the ordinary plenary session on Monday, January 25, and have “a new opportunity to resign” . Among the reasons is “the evidence of a possible influence peddling, when it has been revealed that Esther Clavero has a sentimental relationship with the doctor who prescribed the vaccine.”
- Jose Coy. We can: “We will not make distinctions when demanding exemplarity”
-
Podemos Molina de Segura, coalition partner in the municipal government, demanded the resignation of the mayor, Esther Clavero, for “having been vaccinated earlier than the protocol,” as reported in a statement. The spokesman for the purple formation in Molina de Segura, José Coy, assured that his party “will not make distinctions when demanding exemplarity from public office” and reiterated that “Clavero must resign.”
- Antonio Martinez. Vox: “If other cancer patients do not have priority, resign”
-
Vox Molina de Segura considered it “regrettable” that at this very critical moment the mayor, being an elected position, which is not a priority according to the protocol established by “her own Government”, has bypassed the regulations, putting her personal interests before those of all Molinenses. “If other oncological patients do not have priority, I demand that you present your resignation immediately,” said Antonio Martínez, spokesman for Vox Molina.
This last circumstance, which neither of the two members of the couple has wanted to confirm – nor have they denied – with the argument that it is an issue that is part of their privacy, may be key to knowing the reasons why Esther Clavero agreed to the vaccine without being included in the protocol and, likewise, find out why the coordinator of the health center wrote the letter to give ‘coverage’ to the high socialist position.
In fact, the Murcian Health Service (SMS) itself yesterday cast shadows of doubt on that document and advanced that it has opened “information reserved for the health worker who signs the letter justifying the vaccination of the mayor of Molina, Esther Clavero. It is a private document and, in no case, endorsed by the SMS management.
The first mayor of Molina de Segura has not been able to justify in these last two days, since LA VERDAD unveiled her irregular vaccination last Wednesday, that some of the doctors who pay attention to her on a daily basis, neither her family doctor nor the specialists who treat her for her oncological pathology, were those who prescribed the drug.
