Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Sinaloa Science Center will hold a commemorative week for the 30th anniversary of its foundationwhich takes place next Sunday, June 12, with a cycle of conferences given by renowned scientists, as well as various workshops for school groups and activities for visitors, announced the executive director of the institution, Eng. José María Conde Uraga.
“These 30 years represent a watershed in the teaching and dissemination of science and technology in Sinaloa, the Science Center was one of the first science dissemination centers that were created in our country, and in these 30 years it has fulfilled a fundamental function that is reflected in different ways in our state, for example, the percentage of students who currently carry out undergraduate studies related to the exact sciences, natural sciences or technology has increased substantially,” he said.
He explained that June 12 marks the 30th anniversary of the publication of the decree that created the Sinaloa Science Center, and in accordance with this commemorative date, a set of activities has been designed, such as the cycle of conferences that will take place from June 6 to 10, through the CCS Facebook Live platform.
The cycle will begin this Monday 6 at 5 pm, with Dr. Cuauhtémoc Reyes Moreno, from the Faculty of Biological Chemical Sciences of the UAS, who will offer the conference Basic grains to produce functional tortillas with high nutritional value; on Tuesday 7 at 9 am, it will be Dr. Giordano Pérez Gaxiola, from the Pediatric Hospital of Sinaloa, with the topic Emerging diseases in children; and that same day at 6 pm, Dr. Héctor Cárdenas Cota, from Agrobionsa, will speak on Biotechnology in everyday life.
It will continue on Wednesday the 8th at 6 pm, with Dr. Norma Angélica Corado Nava, from the UNAM Universum museum, who will talk about corals and climate change; on Thursday 9 at 10 am, the MC Sandra Luz Lara Dévora, from the CCS Computer Laboratory, will address the topic Evolution of ICT, TAC and TEP; and at 6 pm, the QFB Martín Bonfil, from the UNAM Universum museum, will present the topic Brain Science and Evolution.
The cycle will culminate on Friday the 10th at 5 pm, with Dr. Carlos Karam Quiñones, general director of CONFÍE, who will give the conference Management of Science in Sinaloa.
The executive director of the CCS pointed out that from June 6 to 10, the workshops scheduled for school groups will take place, Make your own ice cream, Genetics, Electrical circuits, Evolution of ICT, TAC and TEP, as well as Geometric patterns.
Conde Uraga pointed out that on Saturday the 11th night there will be an event to recognize the workers who have been participating in the institution for many years, contributing their knowledge for the benefit of the people of Sinaloa.
