The Sharjah Department of Human Resources announced in a circular issued regarding remote work; That in view of the emergency and exceptional circumstances and the government’s concern for the safety of employees, and to complement the precautionary measures and to ensure business continuity, the competent authority at work bodies may take all or any of the measures mentioned in the circular according to the nature and need of work.
They are: Implementing the remote work system for employees, starting from Sunday, February 14, 2021, according to the percentage determined by the competent authority, and in a manner that does not cause work disruption or reduce the overall performance of the employer. With the exception of the employees whose duties require their presence in their workplace, provided that the employer provides the highest levels of security and safety, with the need to ensure that the employees are not crowded into one place, and that the distance between each employee is not less than two meters.
In addition to distributing work among employees to whom remote work will not be applied – if this is possible -; So that they rotate among them on a weekly basis in attending the workplace, provided that the attendance rate for employees is not less than 50% to ensure the continuity of work.
The circular also affirmed to alert employees to the necessity to adhere to security and safety procedures and to take the necessary precautions to preserve their safety and the safety of their colleagues while they are at the workplace. Noting the implementation of Executive Council Resolution No. (35) of 2020 AD regarding violations of precautionary measures to confront the Covid 19 virus on violating employees according to what it says.
Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Chairman of the Human Resources Department, called for the importance of commitment by all parties, “employers and employees”, to strictly apply all precautionary measures and measures that guarantee public safety.
