The action has involved the reorganization and paving of the road
The Community has carried out the remodeling of Maestre Street to provide it with greater safety for both pedestrians and vehicles. The action has involved the reorganization and paving of the road by widening the road and sidewalks, as well as the creation of new parking spaces, reported the regional government. To make this improvement possible, it was necessary to demolish the old wall of the General Air Force Academy and build the new one inside the military compound. In this way, a setback could be made that will contribute to improving road safety, since with the execution of these works “pedestrians have wider pavements and a 3.5-meter roadway for the circulation of vehicles.”
The project budget amounted to 314,000 euros, of which the Community contributed 277,000 euros, through the General Directorate of Local Administration, and the remaining 37,000 euros were provided by the San Javier City Council. The works included the demolition of the old pharmacy of the Air Base, the clearing of excess vegetation that had accumulated and the replacement of the public lighting network.
