The Senate starts this week the appearances of the Research Commission on the DANA on October 29, with the focus on technical profiles, since the first to be called are two professors, an architect and an engineer.
The absolute majority of the PP in the Upper House has not placed for the moment date for the commission to interrogate political leaders, both of the Generalitat Valenciana and the central government, about its management in the storm that ravaged several provinces, especially that of Valencia, where 228 people died.
Thus, the first appearing party will be Juan Bautista Marco, which Félix Ramón Francés will follow, both this Monday and as hydraulic professors. Tuesday will be the turn of the Valencian architect’s editor of the Plan Sur, Julio Gómez-Perta de Mateo, and the engineer who participated in the works of the Poyo Barranco, Javier Machí.
‘Popular’ sources justified Europa Press their intention to call the technicians first arguing that it is “to know why some areas and others were flooded.” “The first thing is the Valencians and work so that if a Dana returns, as far as possible, it does not cause damage to the human level and neither material level,” they said.
Taking advantage of its absolute majority, the PP has in its hands the decision to call or not the Valencian president, Carlos Mazón, which he includes in the list of appearances because he himself offered to go. “If the Senate does not call me, I hope it will be the one who will request the first to appear,” he said last January.
The PP also has several ministers, the former Valencian socialist president Ximo Puig and the Executive delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé. And at the request of the PSOE he agreed to include several secretaries of state.
