The General Secretariat of the Council said in a statement: “Jassem Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned the blatant attack that targeted the headquarters of the Head of the United Arab Emirates Mission in the Republic of Sudan, which led to serious damage to the building.”
The statement added: “The Secretary-General called on the Government of Sudan to make all efforts to protect diplomatic facilities and those working in them.”
He continued: “The Secretary-General stressed that this attack represents a flagrant violation of the basic principle of the inviolability of diplomatic buildings, and stressed the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings and the headquarters of embassy personnel in accordance with the customs and charters that govern and regulate diplomatic work.”
According to the statement, Al-Budaiwi expressed his “strong condemnation of this attack, and the Cooperation Council’s permanent and steadfast rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilize security and stability and are inconsistent with international law.”
On Sunday, the UAE condemned the attack that targeted the headquarters of its head of mission in Khartoum, by a Sudanese army plane.
The UAE Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the UAE strongly condemns “the brutal attack that targeted the headquarters of the head of the UAE mission in Khartoum, by a Sudanese army plane, which led to serious damage to the building, calling on the army to bear full responsibility for this cowardly act.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in the statement that it “will submit a note of protest to the League of Arab States, the African Union, and the United Nations, against this attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces, which represents a flagrant violation of the basic principle of the inviolability of diplomatic buildings.”
In the statement, she stressed “the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings and the headquarters of embassy personnel in accordance with the customs and charters that govern and regulate diplomatic work.”
The Ministry expressed its “strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilize security and stability and are inconsistent with international law,” according to the Emirates News Agency.
