The Saudi Ministry of Sports announced the launch of the second edition of the “Saudi Tour” for bicycles in Al-Ula Governorate, during the period between the first and fifth of February 2022.
The race is part of the initiatives of the “Quality of Life” program aimed at increasing the rate of sports practice in the community. The race includes five different stages that will be held within Al-Ula Governorate, which is full of scenic monuments and natural monuments, provided that more details about the track and the participants will be revealed in a press conference held Later.
The Saudi Tour includes holding a number of side events and various races, such as the public race, the women’s race, and the junior race organized by the federation, as well as a race for children.
It is noteworthy that the capital, Riyadh, witnessed the first edition of the race in February 2020, and German cyclist Phil Bhaus of the Bahrain McLaren team crowned the title with a time of 17 hours 53 minutes and 38 seconds.
French cyclist Nasser Bohani of the “Arkia Samsik” team came in second with a time of 17 hours 53 minutes and 40 seconds, followed by Portuguese Rui Costa, cyclist of the UAE team, in third place with a time of 17 hours 53 minutes and 51 seconds.
