The Russian men’s team won bronze in the team race at the European Short Track Speed Skating Championships. The competition ended on Sunday, January 24, in Gdansk, Poland.
The national team included Semyon Elistratova, Denis Hayrapetyan and Konstantin Ivliev.
The athletes won bronze medals in the 5,000 meter relay. They covered this distance in 6 minutes 56.653 seconds. The Netherlands took the first place (6.56,420), the Italians took the second place (6.56,544).
In the women’s 3,000m relay, the Russians finished first, but they were disqualified for breaking the rules. As a result, the victory went to France, the Netherlands won the second, and Italy the third.
As reported “Sport-Express”, Elistratov won in the all-around on the basis of all distances, gaining 71 points. In total, athletes from Russia won eight medals at the tournament – four gold, silver and three bronze.
In early December last year, it became known that the International Skating Union had decided to cancel the 2021 European Figure Skating Championships in Croatia.
