The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation predicted an increase in the average monthly salary of citizens in 2021 by almost five thousand rubles, or 9.1 percent in relation to the level of 2020. The Russians were predicted that the average income level would exceed 56 thousand rubles, Vedomosti reports, citing the agency’s macroeconomic forecast up to 2024, updated in June.
According to the ministry’s forecast, starting from 2022, average monthly salaries in Russia will begin to grow by 6.6 percent, so by 2024 they will amount to about 68 thousand rubles. At the same time, back in April, the Ministry of Economic Development assumed that the income of Russians this year would rise only by 3,800 rubles (+7.4 percent) – up to 54,800 rubles.
In addition, the department has increased the forecast for the cost of living. It is expected that in 2022 the minimum wage will grow by 2.5 percent to 11,950 rubles, by 9.2 percent (to 13,059 rubles) in 2023 and by 7.4 percent (to 14,031 rubles) in 2024.
“The previous scenario conditions were formed on the basis of data for January – February. Now, according to the data for March, April and May, we see: the economy is recovering faster than expected – we have adjusted a number of key indicators of economic growth and the labor market towards improvement, ”the Ministry of Economic Development explained.
Earlier it was reported that the minimum wage (minimum wage) in Russia will increase. Compared to the current year, the figure will grow by 6.4 percent to 13,617 rubles.
