Russian diplomats in the United States express condolences over the death of American journalist Larry King, the corresponding message was published on the Facebook page of the Russian embassy.
Larry King passed away at the age of 87 in a Los Angeles hospital. The cause of death of the legend of TV journalism was not specified.
The Russian diplomatic mission in Washington stressed that “they were deeply saddened by the news of the death of the venerable American TV presenter, interviewer and writer.”
“Larry King was one of a kind, a professional, a legend,” the text says.
As diplomats noted, King will remain in the memory of millions of viewers and listeners who fell in love with him for his art of engaging guests in a casual conversation and giving them the opportunity to tell their own stories.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed his condolences to his family and friends, whom Larry King interviewed several times. According to the press secretary of the head of state, Putin “has always appreciated his highest professionalism and indisputable journalistic authority.”
