The Russian Embassy in Tirana called the decision of the Albanian authorities to expel Russian diplomat Alexei Krivosheev unreasonable. This is stated in a post posted on the embassy’s Facebook page.
It is noted that the Russian diplomat did not provide evidence of violations of the antiquated measures introduced in Albania.
Earlier, the Albanian authorities declared Russian diplomat Krivosheev persona non grata, who, according to them, violated the restrictions in force due to the coronavirus pandemic. Krivosheev was given 72 hours to leave the country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed regret over the expulsion of the Russian diplomat from Albania. The deputy head of the department, Alexander Grushko, called this decision “an obvious provocation.”
