The Rogue Prince of Persia available in Early Access on Steam

After a long wait, finally The Rogue Prince of Persia is available in early access on Steamwhich can be purchased at the price of €19.99 (introductory offer at €17.99).

Developed by Evil Empire, the same ones who oversaw several expansions of Dead Cells for Motion Twins, it is a roguevania that reinterprets the series born from the genius of Jordan Mechner in a very particular way. Currently nothing is known about the inevitable console versions, which will probably arrive when the final version of the game is published.

The early access version contains the entire first act of The Rogue Prince of Persia. Evil Empire will publish the other acts later, listening to player feedback to make appropriate changes to the game and to guide the development of new content.

History

Let’s read it history which is the backdrop to the action: in the fairytale land of Persia, the Prince, known for his impetuous nature, once again finds himself entangled in a desperate struggle against time and destiny. In a heroic, yet reckless, attempt to protect his people from the imminent invasion of the Huns, he disobeys his father’s orders and launches a pre-emptive attack against their army camped outside the capital. Unfortunately, the enemies were not unprepared and anticipated their attack, thanks to their dark magic, going so far as to kill the prince.

Our man, however, wakes up unharmed in his camp, as if time had been rewound. Every time the Prince faces death, a mysterious force takes him back in time to the last moment when he was completely safe. Prisoner of this time loop, the Prince finds himself fighting the same battle against the Huns over and over again, learning from his mistakes and refining his strategies with each new iteration. Each death brings him closer to victory, each rebirth offers him a new perspective. Will he be able to break the cycle and free his kingdom from the grip of the Huns? Or will he be condemned to eternally relive his death, trapped in an endless time loop?
