The former head coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov did not insist on paying him a penalty for the early termination of the contract. This was announced on Thursday, July 15, by the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov.
“Yes, I confirm it, he refused [от выплаты неустойки]”, – said during an online conference, answering a question from journalists.
Earlier that day, it became known that the Russian Football Union is considering the ex-coach of “Rubin” and “Rostov” Kurban Berdyev for the post of head coach of the national football team.
On July 8, it became known that Stanislav Cherchesov left the post of head coach of the Russian national football team. He wished the new coaches to solve the problem of reaching the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that the decision to terminate the contract with Cherchesov is absolutely justified.
Talks about Cherchesov’s departure from office began after the Russian national team lost to the Denmark team with a score of 1: 4 – the team took the last place in Group B at Euro 2020 and was eliminated.
