The Royal Spanish Football Federation announced this Tuesday that, “in order to collaborate in the readjustment of the calendar due to the setbacks caused by DANA”, the sole Competitions judge has agreed to alter the order of the semi-final matches of the Super Cup of Spain, which will be played in January in Jeddah.
Thus, Athletic Club-Barcelona will be played on Wednesday, January 8 at 8:00 p.m. in Spain, while Real Madrid-Real Mallorca will be played on Thursday the 9th at the same time.
In his resolution, the sole Competitions judge points out that this agreement responds to the purpose of allowing Real Madrid to have adequate breaks for the hypothesis that the postponed Valencia-Real Madrid match can be played on January 2, given that the 5 of the same month the round of 32 of the Copa del Rey will be played.
The semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup Real Madrid-Real Mallorca was set for January 8, while Athletic Club-Barcelona was going to be played the following day. The competition will be played at the King Abdullah Sport City KASC Stadium “AlJawhara” in Jeddah.
