The Sharjah Private Education Authority announced the launch of the visits of improvement and development teams to Sharjah private schools as part of the improvement review visits project, stressing that the field tours are proceeding according to the set plan, with remarkable and distinguished cooperation from all the administrative and teaching bodies in the targeted private schools.
The project, which is implemented by the authority in cooperation with the Education Development Center “I,D,T” – an international company specialized in evaluating and reviewing the performance of schools – is one of the most prominent pilot projects aimed at improving performance efficiency and data collection, in preparation for the comprehensive evaluation in the coming academic years, and to complete a series of It is one of the initiatives consistent with the strategies and directions of the authority aimed at developing and improving educational mechanisms in its private schools, leading to the desired development of education in order to be a real supporter of sustainable development in the country.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, praised the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah, in support of educational institutions in the emirate, noting that His Highness’s directives represent a clear signal for us to advance towards excellence and achievement.
She stated that the project is proceeding according to the approved plan, and that the visits that have been implemented so far according to timetables prepared previously in consultation with the schools, have led to the achievement of many positive results, as well as the cooperation of private schools, expressing her happiness with these rich experiences, which will lead to creating Qualitative shifts in work efficiency and the quality of educational performance, by enabling school leaders to identify strengths, informing them of the aspects that need further improvement and development, and providing them with the necessary support to achieve the desired goals.
Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, confirmed that the authority places the issue of developing the private education sector in Sharjah on the priorities of its programs and goals, noting that the authority’s strategic plan aimed to make a qualitative leap in the entire system to achieve the UAE vision for the next fifty years.
He added: “According to the feedback and opinion polls from school leaders, everyone confirmed that it is a positive experience, especially that they have become part of the project and effective contributors to its success, in addition to their influential participation in enacting procedures alongside the authority, which has enhanced cooperation tools and expanded the Its prospects, especially since the assessment is considered a collaborative review in which the review team meets with the school and they go together to the classrooms to collect data on the quality of education.”
Ali Al Hosani praised the remarkable cooperation of the schools during the field visits to the improvement teams in order to achieve the desired goals that come as a translation of the authority’s visions and strategies, and as a result of its efforts to develop the educational system, upgrade its tools and provide it with the best international practices in a manner befitting to enhance the position of the Emirate of Sharjah on the education map at the regional and global levels.
For his part, Director of the Continuous Improvement Department and Project Manager, Ziad Shatat, explained the importance of what the Sharjah Private Education Authority is doing through the “Improvement Review Visits Project”, stressing that attention to school education is a necessity linked to a comprehensive and integrative process of the education process.
He said that the visits were launched on May 16, taking a cooperative feature between schools, the authority and review teams in a positive way, which means that the project will proceed according to the plan that has been developed, for the purpose of discovering strengths and areas that need improvement and developing plans that address the requirements of scientific advancement in our schools that will come out later Generations capable of building and elevating the nation and serving it.
He said that the project is the beginning of a comprehensive evaluation that the schools under the authority’s umbrella will witness during the coming academic years, as a tool for improvement, data collection, analysis and plans based on that.
He added that the teams’ visit focuses on two main criteria: the quality of teaching and assessment processes, and the quality of the school and its management in accordance with the school assessment framework approved in the United Arab Emirates. The visits are scheduled and schools are notified of the date of the visit, its agenda and the names of its team members, one week before the date of the improvement review visit.
Shatat stressed that the objective of the evaluation is to determine the real level of schools, and to familiarize students’ parents with the quality of their services, noting that the improvement review aims to determine the quality of educational services in the main academic subjects, while the performance criteria and the seven indicators will be evaluated based on a six-point scale consisting of six Indicative levels are outstanding, very good, good, acceptable, poor, and very poor.
He stated that the auditors will use the 6-level scale within the framework of the school monitoring and evaluation standards in the country, including classroom observations, learning tours, and review of students’ business models, in addition to meetings and interviews, taking into account the educational services provided to students with special educational needs “people of determination”.
