Tinet Rubira, director of the OT production company, points out a possible return of the program in 2023 without specifying its broadcast location
“Dear Dylan, your wishes are orders.” With these words, the director of the production company of ‘Operación Triunfo’, Tinet Rubira, responded to a tweet from a follower of the talent show who demanded its return. Rubira’s characters soon went viral and received thousands of responses and interactions, with requests from many users who were anxiously awaiting the return of the television phenomenon.
And it is that the galas of ‘OT’ have been part of Spanish culture since its inception in 2001. TVE presented a new format that broke audience and television ‘share’ records, and which also served as a springboard for various artists such as David Bisbal, David Bustamante or Chenoa, among others. After an unprecedented success, it was bought by Mediaset two editions later. Telecinco broadcast the program until 2011, with declining ratings that ended up turning off the microphones of the Gestmusic Endemol product.
In 2017, the return of ‘OT’ was announced and he did it to the network that saw him grow. The Spanish Television format once again moved the masses throughout the country, in a year where the victory of Amaia Romero gave great results on the public channel. It seemed that her return was to stay, but the production of several consecutive editions made her lose audience again and TVE canceled the popular program again in 2020.
The format has been resting for more than two years after the disappointing audience data of the last edition, but Rubira’s words give hope to the thousands of spectators who are impatiently awaiting the return of the musical galas.
