During December 11, the Epidemiology Service registered 643 new positives but there were no deaths from the coronavirus
The number of coronavirus infections does not stop growing in the Region of Murcia in this the sixth wave of the pandemic. During December 11, the Epidemiology Service detected 643 new cases of Covid-19, the highest number registered on a Saturday since January 30, when 649 positives were recorded.
Of the 643 new infections, 231 correspond to Murcia, 126 to Cartagena, 28 to Jumilla, 24 to Yecla, 22 to Molina de Segura, 22 to La Unión, 21 to Torre Pacheco, 18 to Cieza, 16 to Totana, 14 to Alcantarilla , 9 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 8 to Alhama, 8 to Lorca, 8 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 6 to Águilas, 6 to Fuente Álamo, 6 to Lorquí, 5 to Abarán, 5 to San Javier and 5 to Santomera. The rest are distributed in various municipalities.
With this level of infections, the accumulated incidence has risen again in the Region and already exceeds the threshold of 404 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. This is 23 points more than on Friday, when it had already risen 40 points compared to the previous day. If yesterday there were five municipalities in which a cumulative incidence greater than 500 was exceeded, now there are eight: Aledo, La Unión, Campos del Río, Cartagena, Jumilla, Villanueva del Río Segura, Lorquí and Torre Pacheco.
On the other hand, there were no deaths due to the pandemic in the Region, so the total number of deaths from Covid-19 remains at 1,777 people.
