Four other people died on Thursday from the pandemic
The Region of Murcia faces the end of 2021, the second year with a pandemic, leaving unseen figures of coronavirus infections, due to the expansion of new variants and the increase in social gatherings. For the fourth consecutive day, the maximum number of cases detected during 24 hours was once again exceeded in the Community.
Thus, on December 30, 3,471 new positives were detected, of which 1,134 correspond to Murcia, 468 to Cartagena, 203 to Lorca, 161 to Yecla, 135 to Molina de Segura, 107 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 94 to Torre Pacheco, 76 to Jumilla, 74 to Alcantarilla, 73 to Totana, 69 to Cieza, 68 to Águilas, 63 to San Javier, 52 to Las Torres de Cotillas, 51 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 50 to Fuente Álamo, 48 to Mazarrón, 45 to Mula, 39 to Puerto Lumbreras, 36 to Cehegín, 35 to Alhama, 31 to Alguazas, 31 to Archena, 30 to Ceutí, 29 to La Unión, 25 to Santomera, 24 to Moratalla, 21 to Beniel, 21 to Bullas, 20 to Abarán, 20 to Los Alcázares, 20 to Calasparra. The rest are distributed in various municipalities.
During this Thursday, 27 municipalities in the Murcia region screened the population using antigen tests for the celebration of New Year’s Eve. At these points, more than 16,000 tests were carried out, which yielded 782 positives among the people who attended. In addition, more than 2,000 first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were inoculated.
In addition, there were four other deaths due to the Covid-19 pandemic: three women and a man aged 74, 82, 71 and 63, from the health areas of Cartagena, Lorca, Altiplano and Vega Media del Segura. With these deaths, the total number of deaths in the Region of Murcia now reaches 1,830 people.
