More than 72,000 tourists from other countries came to the Community and spent an average daily cost of 111.87 euros
Up to 72,278 foreign tourists received the Region last June, according to the Frontur survey of the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The figure multiplies by three that registered during the same month of 2021 (24,099), as highlighted by the regional Administration.
In addition, the average expenditure made by these tourists reached 111.87 euros per day last month. This amount, the sources stressed, exceeds pre-pandemic records since the expenditure registered in June 2019 increases by 19.5%, according to the statistics handled by the INE.
As for the total expenditure made by foreign tourists during their stay in the Region, it recovered in relation to 2021. It reached 89.4 million euros in June, compared to the 26.7 million registered in the same month of 2021 .
The average length of stay of foreign visitors in the Region was 11.1 days in June. As highlighted by sources from the regional Executive, it is 4.2 days above the national average (6.9 days), positioning the Region as the second community with the longest length of stay in June, after Castilla-La Stain (14.4 days).
During the first semester of this year, 354,282 foreign tourists traveled to the Region, a figure that multiplies the figure for 2021 by 6.3. The increase is higher than that registered at the national level.
The United Kingdom was the largest issuer of international tourism to the Region, with 125,039 tourists and a weight of 35.3% of the total foreign tourism. France was the second market, with 50,982 tourists and a share of 14.4%.
Germany, for its part, sent 29,271 visitors to the Region, and was one of the markets that recorded the best performance with a share of 8.3%, 2.2 points more than in 2019. The Nordic countries occupied in the first half of 2022 the fourth place, with 20,997 tourists received.
