The container supplies the Al Aweer Central Fruit and Vegetable market with broccoli, celery and lettuce
The Region of Murcia landed this Sunday at the Al Aweer Central Fruit and Vegetable Market in Dubai with a container with 12,000 kilos of fresh vegetables, from the company Agromark. It is an act supervised by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment, prior to the celebration of the Week of the Region of Murcia in the Spanish pavilion of the Universal Exhibition in Dubai, from 21 to 23 February.
The Minister of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson, Valle Miguélez, who attended the event together with the director of the Development Institute, Joaquín Gómez, and the general secretary of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment, Víctor Martínez , highlighted “the important presence of companies from the Region at the Expo, which will allow attracting new investments and closing commercial negotiations, and a good example is the export of fresh products such as fruits and vegetables.”
The container supplied the market, the most important in Dubai, with broccoli, celery and iceberg lettuce. The delegation of the Region of Murcia in Dubai is made up of about 70 people and about 40 companies from the footwear, contract (large hospitality contracts), and agricultural and agri-food technology sectors participate.
This Monday the Week of the Region will be inaugurated at the Dubai Expo with the raising of the regional flag and a performance by guitarist Carlos Piñana. Later, the pavilion of the United Arab Emirates will be visited. In the afternoon, the minister will attend a conference on smart water management and its use in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Arabian Gulf, and she will visit Food Tech Valley, a space for investors specializing in logistics services, food and agriculture sustainable.
The round table ‘Water and sustainability’ will also be held on Monday with the participation of INFO, the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment and the agricultural technology platform of the Region, Agritech. The activities will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday with technical meetings with leaders of the United Arab Emirates and heads of investment funds with the aim of attracting investment and facilitating new lines of business for companies in the Region.
