The prosecutor investigating the episode in which a police officer shot Santiago “Chano” Charpentier took a testimonial from the psychiatrist that on the night of the event he went to the musician’s house.
According to judicial sources, the medical professional, identified as Gonzalo Caligiuri, said it was “a traumatic moment ”, in which the musician was “altered and in a state of psychomotor excitement” and related the same thing that he had narrated to the Police after the fact.
On that occasion, before Martín Zocca, head of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) for Complex Crimes of Zárate-Campana, the OSDE psychiatrist said that he arrived at the private neighborhood Parque La Verdad, in Exaltación de la Cruz, at 10:30 p.m. Sunday. He recalled that “Chano’s” mother explained to him that his son raved and that he had apparently “used narcotics.”
Then he added that the musician went towards him “with an overly aggressive attitude“but he managed to dodge it and get off the property.
“Chano” Charpentier is still hospitalized at the Otamendi Sanatorium.
The psychiatrist explained that given the events he witnessed, he went to look for private security personnel, who at the same time called the Police, and issued the order for the musician’s hospitalization, although the attempt to get “Chano” to accept the referral failed. .
Caliguri said that he saw how “Chano” threatened to kill his mother and those present and that all of them managed to leave the premises except for one of the three policemen who had arrived, although the moment of the shooting was “out of sight”.
The former leader of Tan Biónica continued this Friday interned at the Otamendi Sanatorium. His mother, Marina Charpentier, confirmed that “The sedation was lowered and he is without a respirator”, while clarifying that they still do not know if they will pass it to the common room because its evolution is expected.
The episode happened after 23 last Sunday, at the house of “Chano” (39), when, at the request of his mother, a medical team arrived with the intention of interning the musician, who was under a picture of exaltation.
Faced with this situation, according to witnesses, the former leader of the Tan Biónica gang became violent, attacked his mother and allegedly wanted to stab with a knife one of the three policemen who arrived at the scene, who fired a shot at him. abdomen.
Officer Facundo Amendolara was charged with the case, accused of “very serious injuries”, a crime that provides penalties of between 3 and 15 years in prison.
“He (for Amendolara) wants to testify. If the prosecutor does not call him to investigate, we will present a spontaneous statement. His account is similar to that of the witnesses,” said the lawyer Fernando Soto, who after the indictment told Clarion that the statement will be given once the results of the tests are available.
