He Supreme Court (TS) confirmed this Friday the sentence of the National Court (AN) in the case of Bárcenas papers for the crime of tax fraud, whose management was carried out by the ‘popular’ former treasurer Luis Barcenasas well as the consideration of the PP as a subsidiary civil party.
“This sentence reminds us that Corruption is an intrinsic part of the history of the Popular Party. Despite the fact that its leaders are now trying to give lessons, there is not a day that we do not receive judicial news related to the PP,” socialist sources have maintained after the AN’s ruling was confirmed.
For the socialists, this decision – which also reduces sentences in case of Bárcenas papers– “proves that the PP had a box B” in which “the private donations received” by this formation were recorded, “whose control and management it had” Barcenas.
It also shows, according to the PSOE, that The PP undertook “the remodeling of Genoa with black money”. “A headquarters, that of Genoathat the previous president of the Popular Party, Pablo Casadopromised to abandon but whose intention has been left in a drawer”, Pedro Sánchez’s people have argued.
The PSOE: “There is no day” without new judicial news from the PP
Along the way, the socialists have insisted that “there is no day” without new judicial news from the PPand they have given as an example that this Thursday a court cited the manager of the Andalusian Health Ministry as being investigated “for the scandal of hit-and-run hiring” in that autonomous community.
Furthermore, they recalled that a month ago the sentence that sentenced the former president of the Valencian Generalitat to ten years in prison was announced. Eduardo Zaplana “for having received commissions” and, “all of this”, without forgetting countless corruption cases: “Púnica, Lezo, Kitchen, Palma Arena, Bárcenas, Campeón, Fabra, Fitur, Auditorium, Tándem, Erial, Nursery, Acuamed, Mercamadrid, Arroyomolinos.”
“The Popular Party has to reflect internally, give fewer lessons and make sure to play fair,” the socialists have concluded.
The Supreme Court (TS) has reduced the sentence two years to eight months in prison to the former treasurer of the PP after being acquitted for the crime of falsifying documents and the assessment of undue delays. It only supports the conviction of tax fraud in the sentence handed down by the National Court.
