2022 is positioned to be a great year for video game consoles. Each of the three big companies will continue to bet on the plans that have worked for them in the past, such as Game Pass and top-tier exclusives. However, a group of analysts has pointed out that, at the end of the year, the PS5 managed to substantially exceed the sales of the Xbox Series X | S.
Because these two consoles will hit the market at the same time, comparisons are very common. In this way, Ampere Analysis, an analyst firm, has indicated that the Xbox Series X | S will manage to sell nine million units throughout 2022. However, It has been mentioned that the PlayStation 5 will double this amount, since 18 million consoles are being talked about.

With this, Ampere Analysis assures that the Nintendo Switch will manage to move 21 million units this year. These are relatively good numbers for each of the big three companies, taking into account the crisis in electronics production that is plaguing all industries.
On related topics, this is how much money Sony could lose if Call of Duty becomes an Xbox exclusive. Similarly, experts have pointed out that EA will be the next study to be acquired by Microsoft.
Editor’s Note:
Considering the current situation, these are good numbers for Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox. However, it is very notable that the PS5 could sell twice as much as the Series X|S, and is close to the amount of the Switch. It will be interesting to see how the markets move once Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard is completed.
