Sinaloa.- Parents of the Reform Laws elementary school they closed Rafael Buelna Avenue, at the height of the avenue of Las Torres, in the Infonavit Playas, as a protest measure to require the municipal authority that complies with the repair of the ceilings of four classrooms.
The school has been closed by Civil Protection since the last school year as it is considered to be at risk. The cycle is over, another one is about to start and there is no response from the authorities, accused Adela Rendón, representative of the parents.
The building is four decades old and the ceilings are about to collapse. The school has 180 students who are about to return to class and do not have a safe space to work.
The head of the Sepyc Regional Services, José Juan Rendón Gómez, arrived at the protest. He said he was aware of the problem and an expert is going to be sent to check the ceilings of the four classrooms, in order to determine if they resist repair.

Faced with this protest, the Director of Social Welfare, Tonatiú Guerra Martínezmentioned that there was no need to block the streetsbecause the Mazatlan City Council already has a commitment to demolish the halls to build four fully equipped ones, a process that is in process.
The work will have an investment of one million 992 thousand 114 pesos, and is scheduled to be completed in November.
“I already have the official letter of approval and they already have it, it is the document that emanates from the Treasury, in which the execution of the work is authorized, and that is it. I made a commitment with them, not only to repair, but also to demolish and build four new classrooms; I already have the budget, without problems”, he commented.
Guerra Martínez added that the construction work of the campus classrooms will begin as soon as possible and the bidding process is being reviewed.
