Fico: I have no reason to think that this was an attack by a lone madman
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico blamed the political opposition for the attempt on his life, which occurred on May 15 after a government retreat in the city of Gandlova. This became known from a video message from the politician published on his Facebook page (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned).
According to Fico, his attacker, Juraj Cintula, was “just an ambassador of evil and political hatred, which the politically unsuccessful and disillusioned opposition has developed in Slovakia to insurmountable proportions.”
“I forgive him [нападавшего] and let him figure out for himself what he did and why. I have no reason to think that this is an attack by a lone madman,” concluded the head of the Slovak government.
Earlier, the prime minister gave his first comment after the assassination attempt. He noted that his health had suffered greatly, but he did not feel hatred towards the attacker.
