Today, Saturday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen made her first comment after she was beaten by a man, yesterday, Friday, in the capital, Copenhagen.
Frederiksen said she was “fine” after the incident.
The Danish Prime Minister added, in a post on Instagram: “I feel sad and shocked by yesterday’s incident, but other than that I am fine.”
She stressed that she needed “peace and calm.”
The Prime Minister’s office said earlier today that she suffered a minor neck injury as a result of the attack.
The office said in a statement, “Other than that, the Prime Minister is fine and in good health, but she feels shocked by the incident,” adding that Frederiksen was taken to the hospital for a medical examination following the attack late on Friday evening.
The 39-year-old man was imprisoned and charged with committing a violent attack against an official, after he physically assaulted the Prime Minister.
