On June 24, a telephone conversation took place between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the Turkish leader expressed gratitude to the Russian leader for the decision to resume flights between the countries. Also, during the conversation, the parties discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh and discussed issues of settlement in Syria.
