His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received at the Qasr Al Bahr Majlis the winners of the “Waterfalls International Award” concerned with health education, a number of members of the jury and the award team, in the presence of Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board Ministers, Minister of the Interior.
His Highness congratulated the winners of the award, including doctors, nurses, and families of the first line of defense who lost their lives during the performance of their humanitarian tasks, and the award team.
The award’s staff reviewed its humanitarian goals and future initiatives aimed at upholding human values and appreciating the sacrifices and efforts of the front lines in societies.
For their part, the winners – who represent different countries – expressed their great happiness at winning this award, stressing that it represents a tribute to the values of giving and giving in the service of humanity and an appreciation for the sacrifices made by the first line of defense in order to preserve the lives and safety of their communities.
It is noteworthy that the “Water Falls Award” was launched by the UAE during the month of November 2021 in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in what is considered one of the country’s global contributions in honoring workers in the first lines of defense all over the world in appreciation of their vital role, humanitarian services and sacrifices for the sake of Protecting their communities and their safety, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
300 participants from around the world were nominated for the award, 78 of whom qualified and 15 winners won. The Water Falls Global Medical Initiative “Emirates World Initiative” cooperates with international scientific and academic institutions to grant participants training certificates and credit hours that provide continuing education for health workers around the world and provide a virtual platform for specialized training, benefiting more than 1.3 million people from 197 countries 80 international destination organizations participate in Waterfalls initiatives, including: the Mediterranean Parliament, the State Committee of the Red Cross, Médecins Sans Frontières, the International Hospital Federation, the country’s health departments, the New York Forum for Human Medicine and Public Health, and the Arab Maghreb Dental Federation.
