The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has gathered urgently this afternoon with some of the main representatives of the Spanish electricity companies. At the meeting, Sanchez has claimed companies to collaborate in the investigation that the Executive has decided to open to identify the causes of the blackout suffered this last Monday and whose conclusions have committed to presenting on May 7 at the Congress of Deputies.

As indicated by the government president himself, during the meeting they thanked them for their work for the prompt recovery of the supply, which represents a very different tone from this morning when he held the private companies responsible for the supply.

Sanchez has also promised to undertake the necessary improvements to guarantee the supply and future competitiveness of our system.

According to an image that Sánchez has distributed in his X account, the president of Red Eléctrica, Beatriz Corredor; Manuel Menéndez, president of EDP Spain; Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola Spain; José Bogas, CEO of Endesa; Pedro Larrea, General Director of Networks at Naturgy and Santiago Gómez Ramos, Director of Energy Management of ACCIONA Energía.

On behalf of the Executive, the First Vice President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero; the third vice president and minister for the energy transition, Sara Aagesen; the Ministers of Economy, Carlos Body, and of Digital Transformation, Óscar López; the president’s cabinet director Diego Rubio; and the Secretary of State and General Director of the Office of Economic Affairs and G-20, Manuel de la Rocha.
