Likewise, the popular people ask the PSOE and C’s to “put the focus on young people” and design an awareness campaign at concerts and mass testing of the population between 15 and 30 years old.
The spokeswoman for the Popular Municipal Group of Murcia, Rebeca Pérez, and councilor Felipe Coello presented this Thursday the
battery of measures that the PP in Murcia proposes to face the pandemic before the “inaction, lack of initiative and misrule that the team of the socialist Serrano is exhibiting.”
One of the issues that the popular consider to be a priority is
regulate the mandatory use of the mask again in the busiest public places where there is a high concentration of people. Rebeca Pérez recalled that “the decision not to wear the mask on the street was not endorsed by any technical, medical or scientific study, but rather as a smokescreen for Pedro Sánchez to divert public attention from the pardons to the Catalan nationalists. The latest epidemiological data invite us to resume the use of the mask ».
The PP also bets on the
widespread distribution of masks among young people and because they are distributed in the gardens, parks and leisure areas of the municipality. Likewise, since young people are the group in which more infections are currently occurring, the PP demands that the left-wing coalition installed in the Glorieta articulate a special device that allows increasing surveillance and police control in those areas in those that produce large bottles, a practice that favors the concentration of people without the minimum safety distance.
The Popular Group also proposes the realization of
mass testing of young people between 15 and 30 years old for representing the population group in which the most new cases of Covid are being registered. Along the same lines, it is committed to submitting a petition to the Government of Spain for mass vaccination of young people.
Rebeca Pérez also urges PSOE and Ciudadanos to focus on young people and design and execute a
communication and awareness campaign at concerts to be held this summer to prevent infections and convey the benefits of getting vaccinated. In the same way, the PP calls on Serrano to detail if he has a contingency plan planned to act in the face of the rebound in infections among the youngest population that has been registered in the municipality of Murcia in recent weeks.
Another measure proposed by the popular ones is to design a
aid package in favor of the hospitality industry that complement those already approved by José Ballesta’s team and allow to alleviate the consequences of the economic crisis caused by Covid-19 in one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic.
Felipe Coello explained that “experts point out that Murcians who are already vaccinated have been infected by living with young people, in many asymptomatic cases, who have developed the disease.” He also assures that “this situation is spreading. For this reason, we call for the launch of an awareness campaign for the young population with the aim of instilling in them the need to be responsible and have no doubts about the need to get vaccinated ».
“Serrano does not act before the increase of infections in Murcia”
The latest data provided by the competent authorities about the evolution of the pandemic both in the municipality of Murcia, where 53 new infections have been registered in the last 24 hours, and at the regional level, with 224 new positives, “invite us to act and make decisions to redirect the situation, just what Serrano or any of his councilors have not yet done, “they criticize from the PP.
The popular group assures that “the health authorities have already warned that this drift will be reflected in the hospital pressure in about ten days, so it is essential to act now to correct the situation.” Therefore, the PP calls on PSOE and Ciudadanos to “cease their inaction and face the management of the pandemic in the municipality, an issue that does not allow delays or empty announcements, as is customary to do the tripartite of Podemos, Ciudadanos and PSOE” , they conclude.
