Guterres promised to make every effort to remove obstacles to the export of fertilizers from Russia
UN Secretary-General António Guterres will continue to make every possible effort to remove obstacles to the export of Russian fertilizers and grains. This was stated by Deputy Spokesman of the Secretary General Farhan Haq, reports RIA News.
He also said that the Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Greenspan would take part in the talks with high-ranking Russian officials in Geneva next week. “As you know, she is actively working to ensure that barriers to exports are removed. We will continue to have discussions, including through the Secretary General, with people in Ukraine and Russia,” Haq stressed.
Earlier, Guterres called for an extension of the grain deal, which expires on March 18. He noted that the export of Ukrainian and Russian grain is of key importance for global food security and food prices.
