Francisco has had a good third at the Gemell Polyclinic Hospital, where he is hospitalized because of bronchitis
On Friday and Saturday he called the Catholic Parish of Gaza, and despite his state, they say “I wanted to know how we are”
The Pope has had a third night in the Gemelli polyclinic hopital, according to the Italian news agency ANSA. Also from the Catholic Parish of Gaza they have assured that they received Francisco phone calls on Friday and Saturday. “I was in a good mood, with a tired voice, but he wanted to know how we are.” They agreed that yesterday did not call them. Francisco is respecting the “absolute rest” imposed by doctors and this weekend has not even risen to celebrate the Mass. Already on Saturday he had no fever and his medical situation on Sunday afternoon was “stable.”
This Sunday Francisco sent a written text with which he replaced the traditional prayer of the Angelus. “I would have liked to be among you but, as you know, I am here in the Gemelli Polyclinic because I still need treatment for my bronchitis,” he wrote. Interestingly, the medical parts of Friday and Saturday referred generically to a “respiratory infection,” which this Sunday demonian as “bronchitis,” a minor infection.
Francisco, 88, has admitted to the Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital since Friday at 11 in the morning. It is in the medicalized apartment reserved for the pontiffs on the tenth floor of the hospital. When he arrived there, the Vatican explained that the Pope drags bronchitis from at least since the beginning of February.
It is its fourth convalescence in this center, and is the second because of bronchitis. On March 29, 2023, the Pope had to be admitted for this reason, and received the medical discharge four days later, April 1. On that occasion, in private conversations he revealed that he had been a pneumonia.
