The Pontifical Educational Foundation, affiliated to the Vatican, awarded His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the “Man of Humanity” medal, during a ceremony held yesterday at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The medal was received on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, from His Eminence Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, President of the Pontifical Educational Foundation, Dean of Catholic Education in the World and Minister of Education of the Vatican, in the presence of the ambassadors of countries accredited to the UAE .
The award of His Highness the Medal comes in gratitude and appreciation for His Highness’s continuous support and benevolent efforts in promoting international humanitarian and relief work, in honor of His Highness’s role in promoting the values of peace and coexistence, emphasizing the importance of dialogue as a means of avoiding conflicts and upholding humanitarian values and principles, and in appreciation of the UAE’s pioneering role in serving all humanity. Especially in light of what the world is witnessing from the repercussions of the “Covid-19” pandemic.
It also came as an affirmation of His Highness’ approach in walking the path of the founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, who dedicated himself to humanitarian work, locally, regionally and internationally. At home, His Highness worked with determination towards building the nation, serving its citizens, achieving their aspirations and aspirations, and providing them with a decent life. At the Arab, regional and international levels, His Highness has harnessed all possibilities to support global humanitarian issues with his courageous stances, and his many pioneering and distinguished initiatives in the field of humanitarian work and to serve all of humanity.
The United Arab Emirates has provided medical supplies to more than 135 countries around the world to support the efforts of medical staff working on the front lines to confront “Covid-19”. It is noteworthy that His Highness won the Best International Personality Award in the field of humanitarian relief during the DIHAD Conference 2021 last March, in international recognition of His Highness’ continuous support and permanent efforts in supporting the fields of development and humanitarian work. The award is one of the prestigious awards granted by the International Scientific Advisory Council to DIHAD in the fields of global humanitarian relief, in appreciation of global personalities and leaders who play a prominent role in supporting the needy around the world, as well as to international institutions and global organizations working in the fields of humanitarian relief.
