The arrested woman created more than 20 false profiles in which she threatened to kill the actress and her son
End of the nightmare in which Candela Peña has lived submerged since last spring. Agents of the National Police have arrested a 22-year-old woman in Barcelona as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of death threats and harassment through social networks of the well-known Catalan actress. According to the Ministry of the Interior, for about eight months, the arrested woman published thousands of messages in which she expressed her “admiration / disappointment” and “love / hate” for the interpreter. The situation became even more distressing when the threatening messages were extended to her 10-year-old son.
Last May, Peña herself had already made public through social networks that she was being the victim of a harassment campaign, which included all kinds of coercion. Precisely at that time began the investigation that has now culminated in the arrest of the suspect. The actress contributed more than 40 pages with screenshots of hundreds of targeted posts and messages received on her Instagram account.
The harassment escalated to the point of receiving a photo of her 10-year-old son with the message “I swear I’ll kill him.” All the messages – the police explain in a note – came from false profiles created with the sole intention of harassing and threatening the victim, with the agents accounting for more than twenty accounts created on the social network.
With the mandatory orders of the Judicial Authority, the agents obtained profile data such as its content and associated technical data. After its analysis, it was possible to identify the user and presumed author of the facts investigated.
The worrying thing about the matter -point out sources of the case- is that the detained woman not only moved in the virtual world. The suspect, apparently a “disturbed”-she monitored and controlled the victim’s movements around Barcelona and she knew where she was and what she was doing at all times.
