The couple were charged with manslaughter for giving the teenager the ability to use a firearm
The parents of 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley, accused of Tuesday’s shooting at Oxford High School with a toll of four students killed and seven wounded, were arrested in Detroit. CNN reports it. James and Jennifer Crumbley were tracked to the first floor of a building along Bellevue Street, near where their car was found in the past few hours, Detroit police spokesman Rudy Harper told CNN.
The boy was indicted for first degree murder, terrorism and seven assassination attempts. The couple was instead accused of manslaughter for leaving the teenager the opportunity to use a firearm.
For the massacre Ethan Crumbley used a 9 caliber Sig Sauer pistol, purchased by his father four days earlier. A few hours before the shooting, the boy had been summoned by school administrators with his parents for his suspicious behavior.
