A LinkedIn profile reveals interesting details about The Outer Worlds 2.
The Outer Worlds, the action role-playing game of Obsidian Entertainment, arrived on our consoles in October 2019. The game was a great success upon its release and was notably able to get several DLCs. During E3 last June, Xbox announced that a sequel was planned, without giving details on a release window.
But the development of The Outer Worlds 2 it actually started over two years ago. The information is available on the LinkedIn profile of Dan Maas, production manager of this second episode. He has held this position since September 2019, indicating the start of his teams’ work on the game.
Xbox therefore began work on The Outer Worlds 2 even before the release of its predecessor. The Redmond company has had great faith in the Obsidian teams from the very beginning. The success of Fallout: New Vegas probably has a lot to do with this. The studio was heavily inspired by the spin-off of the cult license of Bethesda, released in 2010.
‘The Outer Worlds 2’ is in development since September 2019.
– ‘The Outer Worlds 1’ Was Released on October 25, 2019.

That said, The Outer Worlds 2 is probably far from ready to show. Obsidian is currently working on Grounded’s content and preparing for Avowed’s arrival.
