When we finally got a closer look at Bayonetta 3 last year there is something that immediately made noise to the fans, and that was that the first lines of the protagonist did not sound very familiar. After this, the suspicion arose that Helena Taylorthe original witch voice would not be back in this third and game, and it seems that they were right.
In an interview with the media Game Informerdirector Yusuke Miyata explained how “several out-of-control circumstances” meant that taylor he was unable to return to give his performance. The company held casting auditions, and that’s how Jennifer Pull got the part.
Here the explanation:
Several overlapping circumstances made it difficult for Hellena Taylor to reprise her role. We held auditions for the new voice of Bayonetta and offered the role to Jennifer Hale, who we felt was a good fit for the character. I understand the concerns some fans have about the voice change at this point in the series, but Jennifer’s performance was way beyond anything we could have imagined. I am confident that her interpretation of Bayonetta will exceed our fans’ expectations.
However, for those who have heard the character in Japanese, her actress remains the same.
Remember that Bayonetta 3 the next one is released October 28 on Nintendo Switch.
