Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, opened the Knowledge Hall in the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Directorate building.
Brigadier General Ahmed Ali Al-Shehhi, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Directorate at the Community Security Sector, explained that the hall is a self-educational project that is the first of its kind in the institution for university study and provides thousands of free university courses that do not need to be connected via the “Internet”.
He mentioned that the programs are previously presented in an offline way and have been pre-loaded as training bags that include the curriculum and the course, and are recorded via video and in computers. They can be downloaded to any device easily without communicating via the Internet. They are approved and the student can contact the university to perform the tests, pay the fees and obtain On the certificate.
He added: The inmate can enroll in more than 2,400 majors in university courses and references accredited by the best universities in the world, such as Oxford University, Cambridge University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT and others, and the inmate is granted a course and program certificate after his release and completing the requirements for granting the certificate according to the university’s requirements.
He praised the role of the Red Crescent Authority in sponsoring the project, providing material support, and purchasing devices, computers, programs, “software”, cables and other technical supplies that the study requires or the knowledge hall needs. The opening was attended by Khalfan Sarhan Al Rumaithi, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority Center in Bani Yas, Brigadier General Faisal Issa Al Hammadi, Deputy Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Directorate, Lt. Col. Saeed Jumah Al Darmaki, Deputy Director of Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Jalil Ismail, Head of Rehabilitation and Correction Coordination Section, and a number of officers .
